Aleksi Bardi, one of Finland`s most well-known screenwriters (RESTLESS, THE TOUGH ONES), tries his hand at directing in this stylish teen drama about a group of boys whose sexual explorations take them down ever-darker paths. Taavi (Jussi Nikkild) is a wealthy, artistic 18-year-old whose fabulous lifestyle belies a tragic past. An orphan since the age of 10, on his birthday he inherits his parents` mansion and celebrates the occasion by throwing a wild party, which he documents with his ever-present camcorder. Taavi keeps the camera rolling even after most people have gone to sleep, capturing a sexual encounter on tape, and upon screening the video for his friends, the boys decide to make a pact. Each time they meet, they will bring a video recording of their latest sexual exploit. It can be obtained with or without consent, with a partner or stranger, and the best video wins a prize. This group of spoiled, rich kids soon starts playing with fire, toying with the emotions of others in ways bound to have consequences.

The silent film TOL'ABLE DAVID is widely considered one of the finest early U.S. action films. Written and directed by David Mamet, HEIST is a crime thriller that follows aging master thief Joe Moore (Gene Hackman) as he plans one last robbery before literally sailing off into the sunset. What seems like the perfect heist gets complicated, however, when Joe's business partner, Bergman (Danny DeVito), insists that his shifty nephew, Jimmy Silk (Sam Rockwell), join the crew--consisting of Joe's young wife, Fran (Rebecca Pidgeon), and longtime associates Bobby Blane (Delroy Lindo) and Don Pinky Pincus (Ricky Jay). A tense battle of wits and wills ensues, leading to plenty of twists and turns before the grand finale.HEIST works wonderfully as a fast-paced, slight-of-hand caper flick. By focusing on dialogue over violence, Mamet allows his excellent script and remarkable cast to shine. Hackman (who seems incapable of giving a bad performance) and Lindo are particularly outstanding and carry the film as deftly as their characters plot their crime.
