Significant Mexican auteur Alejandro Galindo directed the ranchera (Western) adventure LA SOMBRA DE CHUCHO EL ROTO. Victor Parra stars as Jesus Zermeno, a successful lawyer who has the tables turned on him when he is framed and imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. While jailed, it is revealed that his true last name is Arriaga, and that he is the son of Chucho el Roto, a legendary outlaw. His skill with the law allows him to get released on a technicality, and afterwards he fulfills his birthright by becoming a desperado out for revenge. As Jesus follows the trail of clues, he encounters danger and betrayal at every turn, but his commitment to justice remains unwavering.

David Lean's DOCTOR ZHIVAGO is an exploration of the Russian Revolution as seen from the point of view of the intellectual, introspective title character (Omar Sharif).
