The story takes a turn for the bizarre as booze-clouded activities by the pool become dark and seedy. Rampling and Sagnier ignite the screen with static tension, giving the film a tangible electricity through their stunted conversations and resentful glances. Pensive camerawork provides moments of true visual comedy that only enhance the plot`s intrigue, offering viewers an understated yet powerful narrative feat.
