Further adventures lie in store for Inspector Wexford in this double-helping of RUTH RENDELL MYSTERIES. In Road Rage, Wexford has to deal with a harrowing kidnapping, as five people are held hostage by a group of protesters. Unhappy with the road being built through a picturesque slice of countryside, Wexford has to use all his experience to coerce them into giving up the captured folk, who include his own wife amongst them. Simisola sees the beleaguered Inspector tackling some racial problems, as a murdered black girl turns up, just when Wexford had been asked to find someone who fits her description. Packed full of drama and intrigue, the pen of Ruth Rendell works wonders yet again with this double-feature.
