Racial tensions run high in this smalltown melodrama. Charlie cannot bring himself to pull the trigger on his own father when his dad finds himself trapped in a blazing inferno. In steps Walter, who pulls the trigger for Charlie in a kindly gesture. Unfortunately this is the start of a trail of misfortune for Walter, as the local townsfolk attempt to hunt him down and pay for the killing with his own life.
