Returning to a style of New York City filmmaking reminiscent of Jim Jarmusch's (DEAD MAN) early efforts, Todd Verow's SHUCKING THE CURVE is the tale of an awestruck small town girl discovering the city for the first time. Selling her car to afford the trip, Suzanne Fountain (Bonnie Dickenson) finds herself caught up in a whirlwind of social activity as soon as she arrive on the Lower East Side. All the freaks come out in force to inadvertently welcome Suzanne, and seem to emerge from the shadows at her every turn. When she finally settles on an apartment, Suzanne becomes fast friends with Kathy (Leanne Whitney), who appears to live in the hallway of Suzanne's building. Further journeys through the mayhem of the heady New York City nights ensue, with the duo discovering drugs, murder, and the fashion world. A fast-paced, big city romp, Verow's film perfectly captures the madness at the heart of the Big Apple, and tells a touching coming-of-age tale in the process.DVD Features:Region (unknown)Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33
