In STORY OF A JUNKIE director Lech Kowalski documents the drug scene that permeated throughout the lower east side of Manhattan during the early 1980s. Kowalski's subject is an addict named John Spacely who is known on the street as Gringo. Gringo travels around lower Manhattan and brings the camera with him as he fraternizes with drug dealers and abusers.
